“Let’s spend the day in bed.”
The early noises of morning continue to rouse the slow paced sun, drifting far off in the sky beyond. The silk clouds of fog have dispersed past morning as the air sticks to itself, heavily weighing down as if it were to suffocate one. It does not asphyxiate Shirahime, however; laying comfortably in the cozy double-futon, cushioned against Kakashi’s shoulder.
His words cause her to blink her eyes open, peering dazedly to her lover as she quirks an eyebrow. It’s abnormal of him, but she doesn’t object further to the notion, rather, she rests herself back into the nook of his tensed shoulders, relieving a silent sigh. The silence of her acceptance to the unlikely request speaks mountains.

She needs no words for what his unrequited gaze tells her, the wistful tension his body gives off painting a picture for her as she rests a hand over his own. His gaze is unnerving from the shared, hushed room it is fixed upon, staring into nowhere.
Shirahime hesitates to ask if he wants to talk about it, but closes her mouth the last minute, deciding to herself that it isn’t what he needs right now. Instead, she rests her cheek against his arm despite his shoulder being cool against the soft swell of her cheek.
The silence that covers them must comply to the feelings around them, left in the lingering gazes and quiet words shoved down their throats from being released. Kakashi’s bedroom is filled with oddities, between empty bowls that have not been cleaned, scrolls, books tossed open, and mission reports that have yet to be filled. From the crack in the ceiling to the dust bunnies that quiver behind the bookshelf, Shirahime has stuffed any feature into her memory that she can while swimming in bliss, not intending to ruin the atmosphere that hangs between them.

Her gaze lingers to the picture frames leaning on the ledge of the window sill, seeming to glow in the buttery sun’s rays and dancing dust that is visible. Most of them are regularly moved, new ones added every so often or look well-done and without flaw. Only one basks in a vivid past, relishing its own vintage secrets. It’s the most painful for him to look at, sometimes, and yet it is always his favorite.

The shifting sheets grasp Shirahime’s attention at long last, pulling her to meet the slumbering visage of Kakashi, what is visible of it that is. Sneaking her fingertips up the hills from Kakashi’s arm, she pulls subtly at the mask that is slipping over the slope of his nose, picking at it delicately between her nails and curling it downward to leave tiny prints of her lips on his skin. She barely makes it to the dip of his jaw before her lips are turned away, when he rolls to his side, snoozing in his ignorance.
A disgruntled sigh heaves from Uehara Shirahime’s lips at the motion, relaxing her arm to topple over his in the process. She pulls herself closer to the warm back she now faces, as if it were an extra blanket, radiating with heat to comfort Shirahime. Over the course of the years that have flown by, she has come to appreciate the relationship grown between them more and more, it seems, be it the visible and outspoken honesty or the quiet ease that can settle between them to the peppered kisses and more subtle shows of affection. It all leaves a sweeter taste on Shirahime tongue as she realizes she appreciates every little, small detail. Even the dust bunnies and messy desktop or the silence that annoys her when it is too quiet are things she speculates upon and draws nearer.
Shirahime, as she is learning, has especially come to love the lazy mornings with Kakashi, the time wasted in bed or relaxing with written words across spine-bound pages. Her eyes flutter closed as she recounts all these things she may have once taken for granted, taken advantage of the cozy morning deprived of interruptions.

“I love you.” Sleep desires to take a hold of her and reel her back in, but even the most endearing words are what she yearns to wake up to and she is willing enough to stay awake a little longer to savor the taste. Her arms pull and tug at Kakashi as best as they can to pry him to face her, though he is reluctant and groans mildly in protest. When she has finally gotten him to face her somewhat, Shirahime is grateful to return the gesture and wake him from his lax slumber with pecked kisses at his lips. The sheets rustle again at the sudden movement, wrinkling beneath the duo as Kakashi pulls her down further and slinks under the navy comforter, relishing the most of the idle morning.
Shirahime has discovered a  love and appreciation for lazy days.

Quick little Christmas gift to HatakeHime ♥

You know I am an obsessive fan for this OTP and always support cute, cuddly morning prompts with these two~ To be honest, the beginning of this was in my folders for a while but I decided to convert it to a gift, especially after reading about their little book club
And ofc, I can't forget you for Christmas since you are 100%+ a total bae and the sweetest thing alive, no less an amazing friend. So it's my wish that you and Sarah (and the rest of your family) have an amazing Christmas and holiday season♥♥♥

OKAY I'VE BEEN FEELING REALLY EMOTIONAL LATELY AND THIS MADE ME TEAR UP NO LIE :'D

Just the thought that you would write me a gift is sweet enough but oh my gosh this was so ADORABLE. ;7; And literally exactly a perfect reflection of their relationship. :omg: "Over the course of the years that have flown by, she has come to appreciate the relationship grown between them more and more, it seems, be it the visible and outspoken honesty or the quiet ease that can settle between them to the peppered kisses and more subtle shows of affection." I seriously couldn't have put it better myself. ;o; How you always manage to capture them so well is beyond me. And sweetie, your writing is evolving in the BEST way possible. Your diction and word-choice is expanding, and as little-yousei pointed out, it all sounds so poetic! :iconsweetiesmileplz: Just WOW!! "She needs no words for what his unrequited gaze tells her, the wistful tension his body gives off painting a picture for her as she rests a hand over his own." THAT IS BEAUTIFUL.

This has given me so many headcanons too!! And when she went to kiss him but he unknowingly turned away, I seriously laughed since that is 100% what would happen XD I just love this SO much oh my gosh. ;___; You've done it again and inspired me to write something of my own even though it wouldn't be nearly as mellifluous as this. Forget Shakespeare, you're my new fave :iconiloveyouplz: Thank you so much!!!!!! I seriously LOVE this to death. :faint:
